A group of five vigilantes seek tort reform. Four men and one woman, each a victim of legal corruption, become acquainted with one another at political rallies. All five carry deep-seated grudges against lawyers. They meet to discuss the possibility of promoting meaningful tort reform legislation - tort reform that would protect society from the unbridled actions of lawyers and judges who consider themselves to be above the law. During their meetings, they study the devastating effects of the 15 million lawsuits that are filed annually and discuss the corruption that is inherent within the legal system. A review of previous attempts to pass meaningful tort reform leaves them frustrated and disappointed. Quickly they realize that the system can not be so easily changed through legal means. Soon, their frustration leads them to the unthinkable; vigilante justice. The only way to effect real change within their lifetimes is to put fear into the hearts and minds of the corrupt lawyers and legislators. They adopt the name, Paladin, meaning a knight or heroic champion. Paladin methodically eradicates the most corrupt and evil lawyers, most of whom should have been in jail or on death row for their crimes against society. With each elimination he sends a letter to the media claiming responsibility for the killing and demanding significant tort reform including the end to frivolous lawsuits.

Everyone should read this book; especially those who have had a bad experience with "ambulance chasing lawyers". It reveals the real costs to our country of a legal system where litigation lawyers are out to sue everyone and everything for as much as they can get.
The legal system has nearly destroyed some industries and professions to the detriment of our society.
Hopefully things will change before vigilantes, such as those portrayed in the book Tort Reform, take things into their own hands.
